Hate Late?

Of all the company or food businesses' motto, there is one that literally interests me, Shakey's! Of course you know their famous line - "If it's late, it's free!". This means they will deliver your ordered pizza on time or even earlier to the alloted time. Great isn't it?

So most of us will think that they'll never gonna have a late delivery since doing so will let them give their pizza for free (as their promise straightforwardly says).

Then, unintentionally, my long-time curiosity finally made me test if they really apply that free thing. Having a laziness syndrome, we ordered pizza and the Shakey's staff told us that we just need to wait for 45 mins. 10 minutes before the "deadline", we were hungry and I was starting to prepare other food since we thought pizza won't be delivered anymore. But wait! Here's our pizza! Almost 30 minutes late! I'm pretty much annoyed by that time and good thing I wasn't the one who talked to the delivery girl. But my mouth didn't resist to give a serious comment "Hey, that is free" (Ate, free na yan.). Good thing Labsky was calm and kind talking to her 'coz he didn't want things to be complicated. She apologized and we just paid. Then a Shakey's delivery boy came after the girl left. He gave us a gift certificate worth P100 then apologized again for the delivery issue.

Lesson: If it's late, we are sorry! Atleast, it was delivered...

Whew, establishing a motto is really a serious matter.

So if me and Labsky would put up a business, we think this would be safe and best!

Darna, ito ang Bato

Every town has something that makes it known for, may it be its food, place or anything that is distinctive. Well, for tourists or anyone who wants to accomplish another challege on their foods-to-eat list, why not try pancit bato.

Couple it with sinapot, then you will realize you really are in the place of Uragons!

Beware of Dogs (and Cats)

Putting a warning sign outside your house is one effective way to remind people that you have (aggressive) pets inside so let house owner/s know first that you are waiting outside. I'm just so happy and proud when I saw this outside our house. My brother made this and everything on the signage is perfectly expressed!

Money in a Whoosh

There are a lot of ways to send and receive money online. But there are also a lot of scams occupying the cyberspace. You can hardly trust and even hardly try to use money transfers online since we are talking about "money" here. Additionally, selecting the lower or lowest transaction charge is a factor.

Here's a thing, it was my first time to receive my paycheck from my part-time job employer using xoom. All I can say is xoom processes the money transfer fast and with no hassle even though they have a low and reasonable service fee.

Here's the screen-shot of my transaction from xoom.

If you are looking for another convenient way to send money and let the recipient receive it either by delivery to home/office or by depositing to his/her bank account, you better try xoom. You'll never worry sending money even on holidays!

Mareng Kayod Parang Si Daimos Din

The Philippine literature is rich with a plethora of memorable characters, heroes, heroine and even villains. Who would not recognize Kapitan Pinoy, Kapitan Bilang, Pulgaso, Pupung, Dodeng Daga (as insisted by my benefactor), Yosi Kadiri (again as insisted by my benefactor and her unexplainable fondness of TV mascots), and others who graced the pages of our "komiks", children's books, radio and TV shows. Now, another character is worming her way into the Philippine household, powered by the financial and corporate backing of Philippines’ biggest electric company – Meralco. Nothing can stand in the way of… Mareng Kayod!

Oh wait, don’t forget Michelin! My favorite tire Mascot who reminds me of my hubby!

Go with the Flo

Do you know Flo? An ordinary employee that was fed up about the everyday stress in the office. Then one day, her fairy appeared before her and Flo's wish to start her own restaurant came true. She left the company and started her own diner.

Diner Dash is a PC or PSP game for player with quick eyes, quick fingers, and quick mathematical skill. Any idea about cooking is hilariously not important. You just need to manage the customers and everything that can let you earn money to achieve the alloted goal amount.

Flo also has her sole employee, the ever devoted chef. The rest of the tasks are performed by Flo like getting, queuing, and distributing customers' orders, providing free drinks and snacks, acquiring payments, bringing baby chair, mopping the floor, cleaning the tables, and entertaining the customers waiting in line. I wonder if she really likes this kind of stress than office stress.

Anyways, here are some screenshots that I am proud of.

It took me 2 days to finish the last stage of 2nd restaurant then able to see the 3rd resto. I thought you just need to let all the customers wait and eat without letting anyone crash their patience. But in fact, seating arrangement is a big factor.

Try to play this game. I believe it's pretty addictive. Flo has five restaurants by the way. Hope developers will create more in the future.

Boinkify Best Viewed on Firefox

I hate when the arrangement of images, texts and others are not appearing the way I wanted to. As the title says, Boinkify is best viewed using Firefox.

Nothing's new, IE is not user-friendly tsk!

When Goodbye is Not That Good

Alright, I know most of us already knew about the abrupt valediction of the original and incomparable moonwalker. Honestly, it is heartbreaking to accept that the promised final concert series are just words from the past now.

While watching the news about the sudden loss of one of the music industry legends, I was teary eyed for seconds, really.

Though songs of him are known by the massive public, there are two songs that I personally like, aside from others.

Heal the World: I always heard this in our karaoke during my childhood times. I believe it was playing on tape.

Scream: I used to listen to this in my first 5 months in the company. You will already have the idea why I like this song for some time in the workplace when you know Scream's chorus.

At Long Last

I'm not sure if I saw the snippet of these upcoming movies as early as last year. They're like forever featured in the trailers.

Good thing the official showing is sooner and surer.

Water For Sale

In a day, I consume 12 or more glasses of water in the office. Hope my internal organs are not overdosed or nutrients in my body are not washed out every time I pee.

But I even hope that I do not drink this water!

Finding Tee

The other night, one of my favorite t-shirts entered my mind all of a sudden. My sister, my cousin, and I have this Disney t-shirt according to our sizes but in a common design.

Then came the day that I cannot find it. I totally forgot where did I put that, if it was just in one of the cabinets in the house, if I lost it in my college boarding house before, if.. if.. etc.

For years, I just miss wearing that and it made me smile when I discovered that I have a photo wearing the tee.

... only with the shoulders' portion hehe.

The Deal Just Expired

image taken from movies.tvguide

Last weekend me and labsky watched Bolt, the animated film from Walt Disney Pictures. The dog with the "super bark" power really made me laugh especially the hamster named Rhino.

Oh don't forget Mittens, she's very funny too. The clever revenge of the pigeons to that cat is one of the scenes I will always remember in this motion picture.

We actually repeated the movie (including the trailers before and after every movie) but watched only the first half during the "round 2" of Bolt.

We found time sitting and relaxing on the cozy "sofa" of the movie house. The ticket was expensive so we made the most of it! The aircon experience, the coming movie trailers marathon, and so on...

(Twilight was an option but we wanted to laugh that time. The other must be this coming weekend. Yey.)

Awesome 19.30!

Making a record at the Olympic Games is just so remarkable, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, spectacular, which ever word you may describe it.

Two thumbs up for Usain Bolt and well done for winning the Gold Medal in the Men's 200m Final at Beijing's National Stadium.

I just wish I can personally attend and watch any Olympic Games, even once (pretty please).

Although I also want to be (and once became) a sprinter.

P.S. Nice shoes :D
I want!

The Debutants

From left: Me, Rach, Lash

Taken when we were 18 years old (2004), this photo reminds me of the long-time friendship we had. Take note, this was the first and last glamour shot we had until now.

Rach (the sidekick) was my classmate from grade 5 to high school. I usually bother (or masahol pa sa bother) her when my Mom scolded me during elementary and high school years. Her house is just a walk away from ours. She loves "gimik" and anything related to it especially during college times.

Lash (the berdugo) became my classmate from first to third year high school. Her place is nearer to our house so when I want to buy "chichiria", calamansi or oishi, their sari-sari store is very accessible.

We were roommates in our entire college life. That means, we already squeezed someone's toothpaste when one was away, got one's sachet of conditioner when in need, loaned P5 just to buy isaw, borrowed clothes hanger, helped each other think of "palusot" when one went home too late or after curfew hours, and many more kalokohan.
