Brakes Category
You cannot drive safely on the road without the brakes. Yup, one of the vital systems in a car is the braking system which slows or stops the motion of it. Oh wait, this is not a common article about car parts (which I typically do in my former Department in the office). So much for that, I already belong to the Brakes Category in the cool and indispensable Catalog Department of the Company.
What do we do in this team? Well, every working days: clock-in, turn on the PC (wag kalimutan magsign-in sa YM, anjan ang sigla ng lahat), go to pantry for a coffee, quick chit chat or simply watch TV for a while if time permits but this doesn't happen most of the time especially during buzzer beater times hehe, then go back to the station, open the excel sheets with thousands of skus, and open the manufacturers' website or pdfs. With something like 1,319,569 skus and almost 400 brands, some were being handled by our team. The rest of the skus and brands were divided into other Categories like Suspension, Lights and Mirrors, Exhaust, Intake, Accessories etc. Brake hose, master cylinder, vacuum booster, brake pads, brake shoes, brake discs, brake pad sensor, brake lines, brake dust shields, and everything related to brakes, stuff like this is where I'm into every office day.
"Part numbers blah blah need to have verification, modification, prices, and images aside from others". Then presto! All of these things will be accomplished by different persons based on their job position. Seems easy huh? Well, it's easy when the Manufacturer's website provides every data we need particularly the product description. However, if it sucks and we cannot clearly and consistently use their site, then we need to check other "reliable" websites about these part numbers, if not, calling the Manufacturer(s) straight to the United States is the best resort. Additionally, to work things better, let the experts and other superiors give a hand about the task.
Trivia: Spot me on the image hahaha. I know you can =)
